I've just installed the newest version of java and most of the time when I use button 1 or button 2 it goes to the pause menu.
I'm also not sure what versions are effected

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while ingame and attach the crash report (found in .minecraft/crash-reports ) here.
Can you also attach your options.txt? (For the key mappings.)
