Giving sand with a value of 5 crashes game.

I accidentally typed in '/give @p minecraft:sand 1 5' and it immediately crashed my game. The crash report said it had trouble 'rendering an item'. I tried again and it still crashed when it loaded my world. I went back to 14w11b and I had the same problem. I attached the crash reports for anyone wanting to read them.

Crashes me too. Report: http://pastebin.com/kMgWrkgb

Exactly. Thank God I backed up my world.

Just noticed that, it doesn't only crash the game, it also corrupts the world. It'll instantly crash as soon as you load it.

There is no sand with a value of 5. Invalid.

Yes there is no Sand with data value of 5, but instead of crashing some kind of error prevention should catch that bug I guess.

I totally agree with you, Lukas, but you know that this site isn't for feature requests.

Well it crashes (Bug) and needs a Fix (allow only legit values), so it should count as a bugfix to be relevant here. I don't think fixing a crash would be considered a feature.

Don't use invalid blocks.
