NullPointerException

I happened to trigger this bug when i clicked on the multiplayer button in the main menu using Version 1.7.9 of Minecraft. However it appears to be an one off thing as I tried it another 5 times and didn't trigger the bug.

Please do not mark issues as private, unless your bug report is an exploit or contains information about your username or server.

You do not have the latest Java installed, maybe if you update Java you won't see this anymore.

Sam, It is the latest java 7 as when I run Minecraft using java 8, It wasn't giving me my usual frame rate of around 200 fps. So I switched back to java 7 and it all works smoothly. Note that when I used java 8, it was in beta mode and probably still is now.
