[MC-54523] Tools don't "Break"

When a tool disappears from your inventory due to it being worn down, It doesn't crumble to bits and won't play the sound.
EDIT: This happened with a sword where the sound wouldn't play, I broke my pickaxe and the sound played. But it didn't crumble.
EDIT 2: It seems when it dies of attacking, It plays no sound, Dies of mining, Plays sound.

Cannot confirm. Do you have a resource pack preventing these sounds from playing, or is your volume down?

No, You may be in 1.7, I'm using 14w18b. Reproduced by killing tool by killing/attacking mob.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 14w30c or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Hey, I can confirm that because I don't heat any sword breaking sound (attacking mobs) in 1.8.
