Hide particles with /effect does not work

The hide particles tag in the /effect command does not work enymore, for example: I did /effect Riculo 8 100 25 1. I got the effect but also the particles.

Yes, I have noticed this as well. Sometimes it works, but usualy does not.

That is NOT how the "ShowParticles" data tag works.

Input this command as an example:

/effect <name> 1 20 20 true

Invalid.
