I have 2 bugs, one is lag issues and the other is moving items

I go on to a server and say 'test'. I do this because I want to see if I am lagging or not. If it shows up, I'm not lagging. If it doesn't show up for 10 seconds, I'm lagging. Its how I can tell easy. I do not however do not do this in single player because I don't have this problem. My second problem is when I click on something, I have to hold down left click and drag it. I can't shift click, I can't just click and drag, I have to hold down left click and drag. I have to do when I try to get things off and on my hotbar. I have to do it when getting items from creative. I have to do when getting items from a chest. I have to do it when I'm making something in a crafting bench. I have to do it when using a furnace. There is never a time where I can just shift click I always have to left click and drag. It gets rather annoying. When I play hunger games in minecraft. It takes me forever to get the stuff from a chest. And then I get killed. Is anyone else having these problems? Or is it just me?
