Fullscreen Blackout on Second Screen - Mac

I have a two-screen setup on my MBP, late 2007. I enjoy playing Minecraft in fullscreen mode (F11). Since I am a server admin, I would like to have Remote Desktop Connection running while I play so that I can access the server console. The problem is, I cannot see the console while playing in Fullscreen Mode. There is an option to use Mac's fullscreen mode (two arrows going outwards in the top right corner of window), but I cannot use a keyboard shortcut to do this, and there are some resolution issues with that. I know this is a minor thing and is probably very unimportant, but with OSX Mavericks guaranteeing "no more primary and secondary screen," this may become an issue in the future.
