When trying to open a chest with an item, tool or item...you just can't open the chest. I thought I was lagging but it was just that I needed to get to a open space in my hot-bar

I cannot reproduce this bug on the latest snapshot, 14w21b. Are you perhaps sneaking while trying to interact with the chest? It's intentional that sneak-right-clicking will prefer the right-click action of the item you're holding over interacting with the block you're aiming at.
