Maybe this isn't a bug in the sense we normally know bugs, but it is one!
We, the players have now opportiunity to suggest new ideas:
1. It's not clear which is the suggestion page, sometimes reddit is linked, sometimes the minecraft forum
2. It seems like the mojang team isn't really looking at thoose sites (the last news I heared was almost a year ago that Mojang used an idea posted on reddit) -> At the moment it seems like the only use ideas from their friends (Example: Generikb had the idea with the rotating item frames and told it to Dinnerbone *Addition: This suggestion wasn't bad but I guess other players have even suggestions that are the same as good as this was.)
3. Reddit makes it difficult to post serious Suggestions on special topic (Graphics/Redstone/Blocks...), Example: Some guys post something on improving sleeping in minecraft, which is liked more, because probably most of the users have no clue of graphics or redstone/map making *This wasn't meant rude, sorry for any misunderstandings
4. Reddit allows only users with comment karma of 10 to suggest -> I have 9 and can't suggest anything!
5. Why can you even SUGGEST ON THIS HERE for Minecraft API but NOT FOR NORMAL MINECRAFT???
If MOJANG really likes their players and their awesome Minecraft community the should also support us a little bit more I guess, please MOJANG, at least say which is an official site to post suggestions where you also read them 😉

The Minecraft Suggestions subreddit is currently the official place for suggestions. However, user suggestions just aren't a priority for Mojang right now – they're still very busy restructuring large portions of the game, working on the plugin API, fixing bugs, and they have their own ideas to implement. If they happen to see an idea that they really think is awesome, or easy to do, they may take the time to implement it. However, the plugin API is the big priority, so that users can implement their own suggestions rather than having to wait on Mojang.
They may listen more to some of the big names in the Minecraft community because those people are better at articulating their suggestions, or they are able to contribute more to the implementation. Take the interaction between Slimeblocks and Pistons added just recently – DocM77 and the MindCrack crew not only gave Mojang the idea, but they actually wrote the code, drastically reducing the amount of effort it took for Mojang to put it in the game.
Suggestions are not accepted on the Mojira because they would overwhelm the staff and drown out the bug reports. Notice that this is ticket #55699. The first ticket was created on October 22, 2012. That's only 579 days, for an average of 96 tickets per day. Can you imagine what that number would be like if Mojang allowed suggestions on the Mojira? Most people are far more comfortable using a forum or subreddit than they are using a bug tracker anyway.
This is not an issue..
