hi,
I was recently asked by a friend to check if I could log in to their username and use multiplayer, they asked that the .minecraft file was created by signing into their name saying that multiplayer wouldn't work.
I've tested their theory even when turning all firewalls off and any form of real time scanning was halted to ensure no interferences were caused.
when I signed in and produced the .minecraft folder by their username they were correct, no multiplayer servers could be joint, as this was unlikely to be a single account issue I then delete the .minecraft folder and signed in as myself, this also blocked any connection to online servers with an error message being as specific as "no more information".
I then placed a .minecraft folder in my appdata which i produced under my username on the OLD launcher, this allowed me full access to multiplayer.
so;
*any new .minecraft folders produced fail to operate online
*all firewalls were turned off and the scenario retested with the same outcome
*all scans ( including real time where halted )
*internet connections were plentiful
*issue is not limited to my broadband, nor my PC
*launcher is fully up to date ( inc all windows updates + java + flash player )
i hope that this issue is resolved in due time having done all common or likely troubleshooting techniques to the same end result on multiple PC systems on different broadband connections all with different security software suppliers

as of now both myself and the friend are using my .minecraft folder to play minecraft online.

Please attach the complete output of the "Development console" which can be found on the second tab of the launcher.
If the launcher closes after game start, please edit your profile and select "Launcher visibility" then, "Keep the launcher open".

ill attatch the requested files asap ( when im by a PC with minecraft installed ) , would you also like one from the other PC systems showing the same issue?

P.S its my understanding that "resolved" means that a solution has been found, no wonder most issues are resolved giving the site a pretty look on stats... this is issue is NOT RESOLVED on my end , nor the freind who led me to discovering the issue.
PPS is there any data in the files i should seek to remove before posting it here?

im not sure what to ask to distinguish the differance between you and i, further information i can give as of now is ;
*windows 8 ( which has recently become 8.1 ) on machines involved , thats really the only simularity i can give of the machines.
*i am not currently getting snapshots, im only on the solid builds of minecraft.
@@unknown: Resolved in this case means this ticket is incomplete because necessary information is missing.
Then surely that means "pending" ? just saying the system seems dodgy and over all ineffective simply to produce a nicer cover to the site.
Anyways minecraft is now operational, the launcher behaved differently today displaying what it was downloading rather than just filling the green bar.
by the end of the set up some of the multiplayer server were now responsive and i was even able to join one to play.
Other system alterations that may have helped include Mcaffe ( the security software ) getting a long list of updates through today
minecraft is now fully operational and the issue is now "resolved"
But note to the developers of the site, don’t resolve issues, or create a new status option instead of altering the definition of the word.
anyone else experiencing the issue ( which too your marked as resolved ... ) updating the security may work along with making sire the launcher is letting you know what’s downloading.

Keep in mind this is a bug tracker, and not a help or support site. If a ticket is not complete, because some information is missing, the ticket get's resolved Incomplete, regardless if this issue is persisting for you.

set your "real name" to your "username"

ahh , well in that case please accept my appologies, i was unaware of that.
but for any record, the support email directed me here, and maybe they too should be informed to the sites actual purpose.
after all mojang should really have a community between developers and any support email operators to best server the purpose their needs to be comunication with in differant stages of mojand employes 🙂

ps for anyone experiancing the same issue, despite its fix on my PC , the freind is still having the issue despite buying a new pc recently. I will be able to look at their pc soon to fix some issues they have been having and will report back if i can fix their minecraft.
