Swimming in lava causes a no-texture field to obstruct your view

In the newest snapshot, swimming in lava causes half of your view to be obstructed with a black and purple 'veil'.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Load a new world running 14w25a
2. Find a lava pool (or make one) and jump into it.
