[MC-57407] The cursor becomes a square when holding a block in all gamemodes.

To recreate issue:
In any gamemode (other than spectator) hold a block in your hand. The cursor changes from the normal + to a square.

I expected the normal + shape to be the cursor.

@Blah nope, this happenes in 90% of my resource packs. The crosshair is fine after death but as soon as you pickup or hold an item in your hand it becomes a square.
