What I expected to happen was...:
The server, upon loading my SMP map, would update the map to the latest snapshot as always and say "done"
What actually happened was...:
A crash caused by an error stating:
state
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot set property ayl{name=facing, clazz=class dt, values=[north, south, west, east]} to down on block minecraft:chest, it is not an allowed value
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use the 14w25a or 14w25b .jar files to launch m y server instead of any older jar or exe file.

Put your operating system (Windows 7, Windows XP, OSX) and Java version if you know it here
14w25b didn't fix the issue, but it seems that the crash list is much shorter, and it take a lot less time to actually "finish" the crash and readout the report.
