SMP Acacia and Dark Oak Trees Drop Oak wood with a missing texture when broken with a axe and pick

Whenever I break acacia logs and dark oak wood on a server it drops an item with the pink and black missing texture and it's labeled oak wood. I can place the logs and it places the correct log but i cannot use the log in crafting. note: this does not happen in single player. note #2 Happens only when using axe or pick.
