Whole buildings vanished and bits of other buildings vanished when I updated to the latest snapshot. Probably best to recommend creating a new world to test the latest snapshot. Obsidian vanished. Furnaces vanished. Iron doors vanished. Some of the Acacia wood plank blocks but not others vanished. Plants in pots vanished and many other things vanished including the bed.
My comment is because I know some teenagers download the snapshots just to see the new stuff without necessarily understanding the consequences of it being alpha or beta type versions of the next update (which means there will be things go wrong like stuff vanishing- it wasn't a bother to me as I have back ups & didn't do anything I was too bothered about getting messed up by the not fully sorted out nature of the software anyway)

I have used a world from pre-14w26 and there are still tons of stuff missing. So, this isn't just from 14w26a and 14w26b it's also a bug in 14w26c
(It was a world I made in 1.7.4)
Edit2: I never played 14w26a or b
Doesn't matter if you made the world before 14w26a/b, as long as you've been in the world in those version it's corrupted.

Right from the post on the website:
If you are updating from 14w26a or 14w26b, your saved world has corrupted blocks and it will be heavily damaged once you open it in 14w26c. Please use a world backup that was saved with a pre-14w26 version.
Never use snapshots without first making backups of your saved worlds.
