Nether portal created on air

When I create a portal to Nether it's created on the air, so if I try to move I fall into lava and die.

It happened with a World created with the 14w26b version. Now I create a new World with the 14w26c version and that doesn't happen.

I was playing hardcore on a new world in 14w26c and fell to my death.
