Cannot confirm.
When they jump back, they look away from you for half a second, and lose sight of you after 10 blocks.
According to http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Rabbit#Behavior this is looking intended.

The wiki describes the rabbit's behavior, but that does not mean it is intended.
The wiki is an unofficial source.
Didn't say that it's intended according to the wiki, just said the behaviour of the rabbits is looking plausible.
Whether it's intended or not, I don't like this behavior and I think it should be changed to be less obnoxious. It doesn't make sense, especially for tamed rabbits.
