I ran the command

I can join the server but no messages pop up saying xxx has joined the game...

Also this map is from 14w26c.

This is the same problem for me as well but I use ubuntu 14.04 LTS with the exact same problem.

I have the same issue when attempting to update my server from 14w26c to 14w27a.
Oh, and I'm on Ubuntu 14.04 if that helps anyone.
