At high resolutions (for instance, I tried 2560 x 1440), parts of the screen are unclickable. The unclickable portion becomes larger when the resolution is larger. At 2560 x 1440, the top third and right third of the screen are unclickable. So basically, I am unable to click certain parts of the menu interface unless I reduce the window's size, which sucks because I want to play it big and fullscreen.

I experience a similar related issue. My notebook has a screen with a native resolution of 1366x768. If I connect my external monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050 and play Minecraft in a maximized window on it, I can't use all of the inventory of a double chest for instance. Any slot that is higher on the screen than 768px cannot be clicked, neither the white highlighting of the currently hovered cell passes that height.
If I set the external monitor as primary screen in the screen resolution dialog of Windows it works fine, so probably the game assumes just the primary monitor screen realm is important for mouse pointer interaction.
Same issue, changing high resulution monitor as primary solves the problem,i guess something with LWJGL.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
I just tested this with my setup in Minecraft 1.5.1 and the bug is still there. Dear Mods, please update the affected versions for me, as Mojira doesn't give me the permission to.
Can anyone experiencing this issue try the new launcher https://mojang.com/2013/06/minecraft-snapshot-13w25a/ with 1.5.2 or even the current snapshot ?
I tried it with the new launcher in version 0.9.5 and snapshot 13w25c and release 1.5.2 and was unable to reproduce it. With the new launcher this bug is fixed for me (Windows 8).
I have run in to this bug as well. When the aspect ratio of the screen gets very wide the alignment of clickable UI elements seems to slip from the actual screen position. In extreme cases, like if I stretch the game window across 3 monitors for 5040x1050, nothing is clickable at all.
As both this and the originally reported bug make the game unplayable in certain configurations, I think the severity should be raised.
