command selector parameters dx dy dz don't work

I want to perform a simple command:
/say @p[x=0,y=0,z=0,dx=5,dy=5,dz=5]
I'm at 10 4 10 and the console shows my name but it should not.

Indeed, I have been having the same issues while working with command blocks.

I think that in order to use the coordinate selectors in a command, you have to use the "@a" selector instead of the "@p".
