This is concerning only the naturally spawning loot chests in Nether Fortress'. If you attempt to break it, the animation occurs, you receive the chest but the chest is still graphically there and you can walk through it ect.

This also occurs on some actions in the overworld. Opening a door, or breaking a random block etc.
