Feel free to stay with 1.7 although 1.8 is recommended. But you need to update to the latest 1.7 version as _25 is no longer supported an no tickets are valid when using it.
fienxjox, please do not suggest that people upgrade to 1.8. We do not officially support Java 1.8, and we do not guarantee that the game will be bug-free when using it.
Bad issue description, not enough detail. Please include your GPU brand, model, and drivers.
Also worth updating your very out of date Java 1.7_25. Version 1.8_11 is out now.
