Square brackets [] removed from signs placed in pre-1.8 worlds

Signs created on our server in 1.7.9 have had square bracked [] removed from the sign text when switching to the 14w30c snapshot. Haven't noticed any other change in the text.

We use Overviewer map generator to go through the files and it looks for certain text including [] to display on the map so would be nice to have this working.

Signs now support JSON text, as of 14w25a. Entering square brackets in the snapshots in-game displays correctly, so it's probably a world converter issue.

Text is still not correctly converted in 1.8-pre1 and the square brackets are removed.

Confirmed using signs created in-game in version 1.7.10. Square brackets were removed when loading the world in 1.8-pre2.

Sign 1: Original sign with square brackets in 1.7.10
Sign 2: Same world, same sign, loaded into 1.8.2-pre6
Sign 3: Same world, loaded back into 1.7.10, to show that the sign contents have changed, and that it's not just a display error.

I think this ticket should be closed.

can still reproduce from 1.7, but 1.7.10 is an outdated version, that was not the same text format.

1.8.8 : sign with brackets
15w45a : same sign with brackets
1.8.8 : no problem
