When i get on minecraft 1.7 or up the game crashes, Although when i play on a version like 1.6.2 or it works perfectley fine

When i get on minecraft 1.7 or up the game crashes, it brings up the launcher and the main menu but when i try to get on multiplayer or single player it will crash. Although when i play on a version like 1.6.2 or 1.5.2 it works perfectly fine Also i am able to play on 1.7 only if i take down my firewall which i will not do that cause i don't want people hacking my computer. also the mojira issue says MC-34743
