Breeding hearts not rendered with particles at minimum.

With the video setting Particles set to minimal, the hearts are not rendered when breeding animals.

The hearts should always be rendered.

Duplicate of MC-621. This is working as intended, because the hearts are considered particles, in therms of rendering.

Really? I think this is a bad design choice. You remove a key part of the game play when the particles are reduced.

CubeTheThird

It's not exactly a design choice. Particles are essentially a type of graphical object. The hearts are just one of the forms of these particles. It's for that reason you could create them with the /particle command.

I'm just saying that it is an indicator to the player of a time sensitive event. The fact that they are classified as particles in code, doesn't mean that they should behave like all particles. The removal of torch smoke and the letters at an enchanting table with bookshelves are just environment enrichment, the hearts should be treated as a special particle since they indicate an event.

From the player's perspective, with this setting reduced, breeding & taming animals appears broken.

That would be considered a feature request. For feature suggestions or changes please do this on Minecraft Suggestions on Reddit.

Sure. I'm used to my company, where we'll convert a bug in JIRA to a feature request or a technical task, but I can post this on Reddit too.
