SMP - Pressing check won't set beacon and won't consume item, either (tried with iron, emerald and gold). It is a tier 4 beacon. Beam is on. I tried replacing all blocks, too.
Environment
Java 1.7.0_65 x64 under Win7 x64 on both client and server.
