Using pick block on red sandstone slabs causes game to crash.

When I use pick block (the "F" key on my keyboard, middle click is default) to pick up the new block "red sandstone slabs" in creative mode, it causes my game to crash. No other blocks have seemed to cause this issue but the game always crashes instantly after I try to do this.
