There is no option for damage values when creating the objective. There is stat.mineBlock.minecraft.log and log2 but that's it.

I think this has long been patched... now, I'm assuming your talking about scoreboards, which did tab-complete "stat.mineBlock" and gave every block in Minecraft. I can attach a picture if wanted.
@Noah Larkin the issue is that you can't use something like "stat.mineBlock.purple_wool" because no item named "purple wool" exists in the game code. Thus, it is impossible to use variants of blocks(i.e. Purple Wool) for scoreboard. However, this has already been marked as fixed in 1.9. I am only posting this for clarification for anyone else.
This isn't really a bug, but it definitely is inconvenient that it isn't in, can't wait for this to be fixed!
