GUI wrong (unuseable) size in fullscreen

When selecting full screen (In game settings, NOT when using the operating system function on the window corner) the GUI scales to an unusable size, whereby it is so large no buttons are visible/clickable

What I expected to happen was...:
GUI scales to the size achieved when using mentioned operating system fullscreen function

What actually happened was...:
GUI too big, no clicky clicky 😞

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open minecraft
2. Go to options --> video settings
3. Select fullscreen

Steps to Work Around:
1. Open minecraft
2. Select fullscreen button provided by OSX, located on top right of window
