Beacon beam disappearing from view.

When looking at my colored beacon in my vanilla survival server from certain angles the beam disappears. Note that the beacon is far underground just above bedrock layer and is hooked up to a redstone machine that cycles through multiple random stained glass blocks that change the color every 60 seconds.
