The world border in the Nether is too big.

Hello,

with the release of version 1.8, my friends and me want to start a new Minecraft server for our gaming community. To limit the resources available and keeping the players together in the beginning of the server, we are looking forward to use the new world border feature.

The problem I have encountered with that is, that if I set the size of the border to 4000 in the Overworld, it's size is also 4000 in the Nether.

I can understand why it is this way, but in my mind it would make more sense if the size of the world border in the Nether would be properly scaled down to 500.

A solution that comes to my mind is, that it could probably made into a game rule. So you could use the world border feature the way you prefer.
Example: "/gamerule doWorldborderScalling true"

This is intended behavior.

That's what I thought, but in my opinion it's also missing the feature to be able to scale it. Why should I allow people on the server to reach coordinates in the nether, which do not translate well into Overworld coordinates.

I can already imagine the questions why nether portals suddenly link to other portals, particularly when we let the world border grow over time.

Sorry, this is a bug tracker, not a feature request tracker.
