After running smoothly in previous versions, breaking certain blocks causes considerable delay before the block is removed, even with Midmapping set to 0, fast graphics, and 2G or memory specified in java. Redstone and Obsidian are the blocks that lag the most often, with the period of lag much longer for Obsidian.
