Fishing rod destroys boats

I was on my testing world, where I wanted to pull a boat back using a fishing rod, so I placed 4 boats down, I released the fishing rod, and 3 boats was gone! Then I threw it again the other was gone too! Please fix this bug, I really want to pull a boat back with a fishing rod!

Might be caused because fishing rods cause damage to mobs/entities.

Also happens with minecarts, and the bug (if it is one) persists in 1.8.

Cannot confirm in 15w32c - the boat is reeled in, see screenshots.
