When trying to open the 'resourcepacks' folder from the client, if one does not already exist, Windows returns an error stating that the path cannot be found rather than generating a new one. Creating one manually resolves the issue.

when I updated to minecraft 1.8 game crashed
and there is no resourcepacks folder
I tried to add folder and it was recognized however game crashed when trying to add texture pack
