Multiplayer world goes new in single player mode

I was playing with my friend yesterday in 1.8-pre3, while he is not playing today, I would like to continue today with the brand-new release 1.8. Since I'm using a laptop for the game, turning on a server would make my computer really hot, so I intended to move the save file from the server folder to my minecraft folder and play it in single-player mode, but then everything is lost and I was spawn in the original spawn point which is where the game starts.

Pobably the server was in offline mode and has other player UUIDs as your (online) single player game.
Check .minecraft/saves/<worldname>/playerdata/

I'm sorry, but I don't see playerdate in the directory, did you mean the folder playerdata? All I see in the folder was some .dat file with some encrypted file name.

Sorry. Typo. Fixed.

while the names of the .dat files are encrypted, how do I know which .dat file is mine?
Similar incidents caused by UUID never happen before when I move multiplayer map to a single-player location...
