I was playing on fancy graphics, and on my world there is a giant mountain that is higher than the cloud layer, and I saw a cloud passing through it. When I looked at the cloud, I could see the sky and the stars through the cloud and the mountain!

Also, there is no open space where that cloud is passing. There is a solid layer of stone and dirt there. The cloud is letting me see the stars and sky through it.

If a cloud goes through a house, the x-ray is really evident. This was an issue in the snapshot BEFORE 1.8 as well.
