Cannot start Minecraft 1.8

What I expected to happen was for Minecraft 1.8 to start and I could play the game.

What actually happened was that Launcher did its usually thing, I got the Mojang startup window, then it crashed. When I restarted the Launcher, I had a crash log.

  • Steps to Reproduce:*
    1. Start the Minecraft Launcher 1.5.3 app.
    2.Make sure I'm using a vanilla Minecraft profile.
    3. Make sure it says "Ready to play Minecraft 1.8" just above the Switch User button.
    4. Click Play.

Well, this will be fixed when a new version of 1.8 is released (1.8.1 as an example).

Not fixed for me. it still breaks
