Player's Inventory and all other stored items disappeared

Blocks lagging after the blocks were mined. (When destroyed the block would disappear after a few seconds then the item would pop up not nearly instantaneous as it should.)
Switching to default profile to see if it was the older version of OptiFine causing the lag.
All items in the player's inventory and all other stored items e.g. (double chests, chest in minecart, dispenser) disappeared and multiple chickens that were previously housed in a one wide by one long by one and a half high space glitched through the blocks to empty spaces.
