Harvesting Potatoes Stone Block Entity Pops Up

What I expected to happen was...:
To harvest the potato and for potatoes to pop up for me. (Like in entity form)

What actually happened was...:
The potatoes popped up, but a stone brick did too. You couldn't pick it up and it disappeared in a second, but it was there.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a place with a flat area of smooth stone
2. Place a 5x5 are of dirt around it and then place a water block in the center
3. Place sugarcanes around the closest horizontal and vertical blocks and hoe the rest of the dirt
4. Plant potatoes
5. Wait for them to grow (I didn't use bonemeal)
6. Harvest the potato at age 7 then it might happen.
