Wolves don't teleport well

I've noticed that my wolves don't teleport once they get into water, they try to swim but end up stationary in the water. If they do manage to teleport to me, they don't follow me. Similarly if I run away far enough they don't teleport anymore even if I'm still in sight. I have to go back to them so that they resume following me.
