In Minecraft 1.8, less of the fishing rod is visible when held, and it is larger.
I don't know if this is a bug, but it sure does annoy me.
How to re-create:
Hold a fishing rod.
The first screenshot was taken in Minecraft 1.7.10.
The second screenshot was taken in Minecraft 1.8.
