I really don't know if this is a bug or it was meant to happen but I was playing in Creative and i was going to use a dispenser for a trap and when i placed it, it looked like a furnace.

Are you sure it was in 13w02*b* and not a?

The fact that the dispenser in your hand has no front also points to that.
