I have tried logging into multiple servers, but I keep getting an Internal exception: io.netty.handler.timeout.readTimeoutexception. I play mainly on PWING.net and have not been able to play. I am also at school and they say it is something on their end blocking me, which I know to be false. I also cannot join any server that I play on LAN because they do not show up and cannot direct connect to those servers either. All that I know is that I cannot play on multiplayer at all and it is frustrating me. I have no firewall up.
UPDATE: I have attached a traceroute of the server I most frequently use. You can see it times out at the number six after it has pinged the wisconsin IP.

They are not blocking it at the school. We have pinged it via command prompt and it says there is a connection failure once it reaches the area the server is in. Not to mention, I have tried playing on other people's internet and it does the same.
FYI:
Ping uses ICMP, a Layer 3 protocol which is the network layer.
Minecraft connects over Port 25565. Which is a layer 4 protocol, the transport layer.
Your school blocks port 25565 on Layer 4, but leaves layer 3 untouched. Hence why you can ping but not connect.
If you want more info on protocols and layers, hit up wikipedia. That shouldn't be blocked at your school.
They probably ARE blocking it at school.
