Yesterday, while in Survival mode, I couldn't get back to my base because a huge chunk of world was missing. I then got a "Minecraft crash" message referring me to a file that's not in my computer (User/AppData/random/yada yada yada).
I haven't been able to get in, since, though the Mojang server says everything is fine.
I can temporarily get into Creative, but either way I eventually get a new MC crash message.
I expected to see more of the same in the issues, but I guess it's just me.
Any thoughts out there?

You find the crash report at %appdata%/.minecraft/crash-reports , for Windows 7 its typically C:\Users\<your_windows_username>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\crash-reports (if you had filled out the crash report, we would know already your operating system...)

I couldn’t find the crash report where they specified. Dou know where to look?

I’m on Windows 8. It’s all new and nothing is familiar. I searched all the folders in c:\users and found no AppData/Roaming\.minecraft\crash-reports. I will have to look again.

Sorry, not feeling like I know what I’m doing, today.

If you reply by e-mail instead of using the JIRA interface you should at least delete the incoming part of the mails, otherwise your private email is publicly shown here.
Edited your last three entries.

got it.

Here is a text of the crash report. Thanks for the time to help me. I don't know how to attach it.
