powered mine carts stop working after driving over curved rails

it still has not been fixed as of 1.8.1 and it is very annoying. if i put coal in a mine cart with a furnace (Powered Minecart) it is supposed to keep on going but in 1.8 i noticed it slowed down to a halt whenever it drove over a curved rail
