Moving with the mouse pad appears to be very glitchy (Synaptics Driver only)

Solution for anyone experiencing this issue

Set the PalmCheck to the lowest minimum setting available. Information on how to do that can be found here.

What I expected to happen was to be able to turn my head in all directions, therefore causing the player to move in that particular direction.

What actually happened was that after attempting to turn my head, it would stick to a direction it was facing, and I'm unable to turn until the player comes to a complete stop.

Unfortunately, I don't have any steps to reproduce as this just started occurring (Had to reinstall Windows 7 as some ads from OffersWizard were annoying me on the internet).

Sounds to me like you need to update your trackpad drivers.

Where would I be able to find the drivers?

Typically these can be obtained from the website of your computer manufacturer.

OK. Looked on the HP website, and they say that the latest build is version 16.something, but when I go on the website for the drivers itself, it says that the build is version 17.0.19. I'll test both, and I'll report back if the issue persists.

Unfortunately, the issue still persists after updating to the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer (HP).

Even more unfortunately is this a technical support issue; this site is for bug reports only. For technical support please use the Mojang Support Center.

Well, I was able to fix it myself by setting the PalmCheck to the lowest minimum setting.

I have no idea what PalmCheck does so I leave it disabled.

PalmCheck tries to figure out when your palm accidentally goes on the touchpad while you are typing, and disables it accordingly to prevent the mouse from jumping.
