Further information
I just updated LWJGL to 2.8.5 and the shift key still becomes stuck every time I press it. The weird thing is that pressing F11 fixes it temporarily (till Shift is pressed again).
So I assume this is not a bug in LWJGL!
If a mod thinks it is the fault of LWJGL anyway, explain why you think so.
Beeing able to rebind the hotbar keys (1-9) and the shift-inventory-key (which is also used for crouch by default) would help a lot for users of different layouts.
What I expected to happen was...:
Shift not getting stuck when you use it for inventory management or crouching.
What actually happened was...:
Shift becomes stuck after pressing it once. (Even if I use another key for crouching.)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use, for example (I've heard it also happens for others), the NEO-layout on a linux-distribution. (NEO-Layout on Windows works though.)
2. Press Shift.
3. Try to move an item in your inventory with your mouse.

The LWJGL problems normally occur on windows, but can you confirm that this but also occurs in 2.8.4?

@Markku you keep mentioning Mac. While it is true Mac has the most input-related problems, the poster clearly states he is running Linux Mint, so your points regarding Mac are invalid.

Oscar, my bad. I was indeed mixing up from other issues, related to only Macs.

3rd time that Grum sais LWJGL problem - duplicate of MC-886.
Kinda twisting your arguments around...
Uh, is there a known quarantee that lwjgl 2.8.5 does not have the bug (if some earlier version has it)? Is there quarantee that you updated lwjgl correctly?
Would Minecraft have different java-code for different OS'es (I mean, isn't the idea of java to avoid just that), and if not and the problem only affects Macs wouldn't the problem likely lie in LWJGL since its one purpose is indeed hide OS differences?(Edit: I was corrected)So I assume this is not a bug in Minecraft!

See what I did there?
I'm not claiming that it would not be a bug in Minecraft, (Edit:
as I have no knowledge if there is separate input handling code in Minecraft for Mac stuff,) but people here seem to jump to conclusions rather easily, both bug reporters and mods alike!
