Hit box of the fishing rod changed and doesn't trigger trip wire

The classic AFK fishing farm by Panda https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aezeY1TCj0M is broken in 1.8.2-pre1. I have verified this problem on both single player and server versions.

The hit box for the fishing rod seems to have changed and doesn't trigger the trip wire any longer.

This issue was fixed in the final 1.8.2 release.

Cannot set 1.8.2 as fixed version, set it to 1.8.3
