[MC-76003] gamemode

when switching between gamemodes 1 and 2 in minecraft 1.8.1 i have found that after i switch back from creative mode i can't lay or pick blocks i can still craft using items taken out of chests and such but when going to mine or explore it just plain doesn't work. i went into settings and reset all my controls and i have tried reinstalling but it didn't help. What can be done for this?

That's normal in adventure mode.

You're not even going to give the correct usage then?

Gamemode 0 is survival, 1 is creative, 2 is adventure. Also 3 is spectator but there's not really much of a use for that outside custom-made minigames.
