Items Disappeared from my Inventory and chests

What I expected to happen was that all my stuff would be okay.
What actually happened was my stuff in my inventory and my chests disappeared.
Steps to reproduce
1. Downgrade from 1.8.1 to 1.7.10
2. Upgrade from 1.7.10 to 1.8.1
